The Adhoc Lower Primary School building located at Nachirongdik village under the Kharkutta C&RD Block, North Garo Hills is in shambles as an appeal has gone to authorities to repair it.
Members of the Achik State People’s Front (ASPF), Kharkutta Regional Unit said the building was left unrepaired ever since its rooftop was blown off by the storm last year.
According to the organisation, the village had to use its community hall for 50 students to attend classes till date. Stating that the residents have written to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and local MLA Rupert Momin calling for repair of the school, the ASPF said they have not availed assistance.
To help the villagers, the organisation has written to the District Mission Coordinator in Resubelpara calling for urgent attention to the matter.
