Amid the Behdeinkhlam festival celebrations, the escort vehicle of Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh was attacked in Jowai on Monday.
The incident happened at around 2 pm at a parking lot arranged by the Seiñraij Jowai for the dignitaries attending the festival.
Reportedly, the minister was already inside the venue of the festival held in Aitnar. Witnesses said a man climbed onto the escort vehicle and broke its windshield and tried to manhandle the security personnel. However, he was overpowered and handed over to police.
The reason for the attack is unknown as investigation is ongoing.
