The two-day national conference on ‘Enhancing Agricultural Growth with Special Reference to North India: Synergising Industry and Scientific Innovations for Demand-Driven Crop Improvement’ concluded today after bringing together scientists, researchers, policymakers and industry leaders from across the country.
The conference was hosted by the College of Post-Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CPGS-AS), Umiam, with the goal of addressing the critical challenges and opportunities in aligning crop improvement strategies with market and societal needs.
The conference featured lead lectures by experts in crop improvement, biotechnology and sustainable agriculture. Technical sessions covered a diverse range of topics, including precision breeding, climate-resilient crops and the role of digital technologies in agriculture.
There were 83 oral presentations and 60 poster presentations showcasing innovative research by young scientists and scholars.
Awards were given to the best oral and poster presentation of different technical sessions.
