The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the right-wing student organisation affiliated to the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has demanded to know the reason why North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has yet to declare the results of the recently-held final semester exams.
In a letter to NEHU Vice-Chancellor Prof SK Srivastva, the state Secretary of the ABVP, Darilin Tang, said that students who are looking to pursue further studies in other universities are “facing problems and also mental stress” because of the delay in releasing the results.
“It was already notified by the UGC (University Grants Commission) earlier that the results for the final semester examinations of NEHU will be declared within October 31,” the ABVP said, and therefore it has demanded that the university authorities declare the results as soon as possible.
