Shillong, Aug 4: The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in association with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India, will be organising the Special Mediation Drive ‘Mediation For the Nation’.
In furtherance of this, the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority will be holding a similar mediation drive in the state under the guidance of Justice IP Mukherjee, Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice HS Thangkhiew, Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya and MSLSA Executive Chairman and MCPC Chairman and Justice W Diengdoh, Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya and Chairman HCLSC. This will be a 90-day intensive drive to settle pending cases in all the Sub-Divisional Courts, District Courts and the High Court including District Council Courts in Meghalaya through Mediation.
All parties having cases in the categories of matrimonial disputes, accident claims, domestic violence, cheque bouncing, commercial dispute, service matters, criminal compoundable, consumer dispute, debt recovery, partition, eviction, land acquisition and other suitable civil cases, who have received notice of their matter being referred for mediation, may participate in the drive.
