Shillong/Khliehriat, Jul 30: Police in North Garo Hills recovered a black Pulsar 220cc bike which was stolen from Dudnoi in Assam.
The recovery was made in the wee hours of Wednesday during patrolling in the Merongdigre area under Bajengdoba police station.
Police said a case of the missing bike was registered by its owner in Dudhnoi police station. The recovered bike was later handed over to the police of Dudhnoi for further investigation.
“The North Garo Hills District Police is committed to its duties and continuously striving to crack down on vehicle theft and related crimes, ensuring safety and justice for the public,” Superintendent of Police Pawar Swapnil Vasantrao said in a statement.
Meanwhile, East Jaiñtia Hills police recovered two abandoned motorcycles hidden inside bushes in Dona Skur village.
Police said a Royal Enfield Hunter (AS 11AD 0356) and a Bajaj Pulsar 150 CC (AS 11S 0501), had tampered ignition systems and fuel tanks, indicating they may have been stolen.
An investigation is currently underway to trace the owners and identify those responsible, police said.
The police have urged the public, aware of the crime, to contact PCR Khliehriat or the nearest Police Station.
