A delegation of State BJP leaders led by President Rikman G Momin, Cabinet Minister Alexander L Hek and state BJP Chief Spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang, met with officials of the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH) to discuss issues affecting students of the institute.
The primary concern was the shortage of teaching staff, especially permanent faculty.
Kharkrang said the party leaders are concerned over the shortfall even as an advertisement calling for qualified candidates to fill up permanent vacancies was released as far back as August 24, 2023.
The Director informed that the permanent positions will shortly be filled up by contractual teaching staff; interviews for which have already been conducted and candidates have been shortlisted. He said that it is expected that the ministry would approve within a month.
Hek promised to personally follow up with the ministry so student grievances are assuaged within the shortest time possible.
The BJP delegation also told NEIAH that it will continue to make every effort to ensure that Central institutions continue to run in a smooth manner, so students can script a bright future for themselves.
