The Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted a smuggling attempt of “contraband” items on the international border in East Khasi Hills before they could be smuggled into neighbouring Bangladesh.
Although today’s BSF press release does not state the nature of the contraband, an accompanying photo suggests that it was a consignment of cosmetic cream.
Acting on specific information, troops of the 4th Battalion BSF conducted a special operation near the international border and managed to seize the items that were concealed in a jungle area near the border. The items were handed over to Pynursla Customs for further processing.
