Thirty two students were felicitated by the Seng Samla Wahingdoh during the 30th Educational Award ceremony held at the community hall of the locality yesterday.
The students, including four from the Synjuk Wahingdoh School, were honoured for their achievement in their respective examinations, (SSLC, CBSE, ICSE, HSSLC, ISC, and Degree Graduate & Professional Course).
Awards were also given to those students who achieved highest marks in each subjects in Class X & XII, Arts, Science and Commerce respectively in the name of certain respectable citizens who had contributed wholeheartedly towards the welfare of the dorbar shnong and towards the society as a whole.
Shillong MP Dr. Ricky AJ Syngkon who was the chief guest on the occasion urged the students to never lose hope but to strive forward towards their goal. He also urged the students to be responsible youths.
RS Marbaniang, Rangbah Shnong and Pynshngain N Syiem, MDC Mawkhar, Pynthorumkhrah constituency were the guests of honour.
Dr. Mrs Sonita Khongwir, Professor Shillong Commerce College was the inspirational speaker.
