The district unit of the A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills regarding the condition of the roads from Ampati to Purakhasia via Salmanpara and the Ampati to Mirjulmala road via Latri.
These routes are essential for the residents of South West Garo Hills but have significantly deteriorated, being filled with potholes and in urgent need of repair The roads are vital for accessing essential services such as healthcare, education and employment and serve as a lifeline for thousands of villages, AHAM told the DC.
The poor condition of the roads creates serious safety hazards, particularly during adverse weather, it added while seeking the initiation of repairs to both routes.
