A collision between a truck and an SUV on the Shillong-Guwahati highway near Khanapara led to severe delays in traffic today.
The accident occurred at around 2pm near the Ganesh temple and involved a truck (AS 01DD 7092) and MG Gloster (AS 01FZ 0030). The truck was transporting four-wheeler parts from Jorabat to Guwahati when it lost control, overturned and collided with the oncoming vehicle, which was on its way from Guwahati to Sonapur, in the opposite lane.
The driver of the MG Gloster sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Guwahati for treatment.
