Irked by the failure of the Health Department to release their three-month pending salary, doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff of Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital in South West Khasi Hills have threatened to stop out-patient duty and emergency services from tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that the staff of Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital wrote a letter to the Director of Health Services (MI) on July 23 seeking immediate release of their salary pending from May to July but till date they have not received any satisfactory response from the government.
In the letter, the staff stated, “We, the staff (doctors, staff nurses, and other supporting staff) of Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital, South West Khasi Hills, would like to bring to your attention that we have inquired about the non-payment of our salaries from May 2024 to date with a letter dated July 23, 2024, and we have not received any satisfactory response regarding the same.”
They also said that they will proceed with the stoppage of OPD and emergency services in the hospital from 9 am tomorrow.
