The Armed Police Training Centre at the 6th Battalion of the Meghalaya Police in Umran hosted its passing out parade for the fourth batch of Unarmed Branch Recruit Constables today.
The ceremony was attended by Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang, who served as the chief guest, along with other senior officers of the Meghalaya Police.
Nongrang congratulated the 104 new constables who completed their basic training, welcoming them into the Meghalaya Police family. She encouraged the recruits to draw inspiration from their peers who excelled during the training.
“The 104 new unarmed branch recruit constables have made us proud. As we stand here today, I am pleased to welcome you into the Meghalaya Police family. Those of you who have won prizes should inspire further achievements. For others, there will be ample opportunities to earn laurels for the Meghalaya Police, for yourselves and for your country,” the DGP said.
She also commended the Armed Police Training Centre and the instructors for their dedication and hard work in training the recruits. “The 104 constables and seven followers in the parade today reflect your hard work and dedication to duty,” she noted.
The DGP highlighted the comprehensive training the recruits received, covering a wide range of subjects. She advised them to apply their acquired knowledge and skills as they begin their duties. “As you step into regular duty, you will need to realize all the inputs given to you. You will face choices; my advice is to make decisions that align with your priorities and principles,” she added.
