The BJP has appointed its national secretary and spokesperson Anil Anthony as the state in-charge for Nagaland and Meghalaya.
Anthony replaces BJP national vice president Chuba Ao, who was the Meghalaya in-charge since November 2020.
Antony, son of senior Congress leader A K Antony, joined the BJP in April 2023. He faced defeat in the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala securing third position.
Earlier, Anthony was the Kerala Congress social media team coordinator and quit all posts of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) protesting against the BBC documentary on Gujarat riots linking it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
