The Hynñiewtrep National Youths Front (HNYF), Southern Border Area has erected a gate on their own to disallow heavy trucks to pass through the Umpung-Weiloi road.
The action was carried out during an inspection carried out by the pressure group led by its president Kyllang Thongni and secretary Drimshon Mawlein today from Weiloi towards Balat.
According to the group, there have been no signs of repair. Thongni said the stretch from Umpung to Trongpleng has turned from bad to worse and has become a nightmare for commuters.
The HNYF has warned heavy laden trucks against passing through the road stating this will deteriorate it further.
