The Pay For Right (PFR) Football Academy will organise the Women Football League (WFL) from June 22 at Malki Ground here.
Academy president Franky Kharumnuid said that the objective of organising the WFL since there are few opportunities for women to showcase their talent apart from one tournament organised by the Shillong Sports Association.
“As an academy we have the goal to uplift football in the state, be it men’s or women’s. We are taking this initiative to organise the Women Football League to open up opportunities for the girls of the state who have talent,” Kharumnuid said.
PFR has invited clubs to take part in the WFL and forms are available at Meghalaya Print at Malki Point near Seven Set School. Online forms can be obtained after phoning 8256983718 or 9862215258. The last date to receive applications is June 14.
The champions will receive Rs 20,000 while the runners up will get Rs 10,000.
