The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has announced the launch of the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP).
The programme aims to create passionate, motivated, qualified, professionally trained and well-equipped teachers capable of designing and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students of different stages of school education. It also seeks to ensure that the prospective teachers are given the highest quality education in content, pedagogy, values and practice.
The course with eight semesters offers a dual-major bachelor’s degree with one major in Education and the other in a disciplinary/interdisciplinary branch of knowledge. It is offered in NEHU for specialisation at the secondary stage only.
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have completed Grade 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent marks from a recognized university.
Admission will be granted based on performance in the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
