The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Sohra has issued a public notice for all stakeholders, interested parties, etc to provide testimony to an inquiry into the death of a villager, Asen Marak, in Shella on March 1 at the hands of the Border Security Force (BSF).
According to police, on March 1, at around 8pm, a confrontation ensued between BSF personnel and some individuals at Daliya village around 150m away from the international border with Bangladesh. During the confrontation, the BSF fired gunshots towards the mob and Asen was killed.
Those interested in providing testimony can do so from today up to March 28 during office hours at the office of the magistrate in Sohra.
