Marshal Marwein who was feared trapped under a pile of garbage at the Marten landfill site here is yet to be located.
Search operation is still underway at the site till today evening to find Marwein who went missing after a mountain of garbage collapsed while he was picking scraps yesterday afternoon.
Rescue workers used excavators and other equipment to locate the missing man.
Today, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was pressed into action to search for Marwein at the landfill site.
The SDRF was activated by the East Khasi Hills District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) today.
A team of the SDRF personnel led by B Sahkhar is presently conducting a search and rescue operation at the Marten landfill along with staff from the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB).
