St. Anthony’s College Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation (SACCEII) has announced the incubate grant fund to three students with innovative business proposals.
The SACCEII grant fund serves as a catalyst for transforming creative concepts into viable and sustainable ventures, a press release here said.
The selected students, who demonstrated exceptional potential and dedication to their entrepreneurial pursuits, received the incubate grant during a special ceremony held at the college premises.
The three student entrepreneurs who were the recipients of the fund are, Mel-Licious by Melanie Riyana S. Hynniewta, a first-semester BBA student. Her venture is dedicated to creating cosmetics and body care products for which she received Rs 30,000.
Benhesedh Edrich Thabah, a fifth-semester commerce student, who is brain behind Ed’s Donuts and Joti Rani Hajong, a fifth-semester Biochemistry student, who leads JRH Jewels that specialises beaded jewellery and custom-made designs, received Rs 10,000 each.
NEDFI Branch Manager Pynkynmawlang Rymmai who attended the programme as chief guest lauded SACCEII’s initiative and commitment and said that the grant funds serve as a stepping stone for these budding entrepreneurs, empowering them to turn their visions into successful and sustainable ventures.
Coordinator of SACCEII, Dr. Rajani K Chhetri said this is the first of its kind of initiative that offers students a unique hands-on experience in pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations. “Our goal is to see students graduate not only with a degree but also with thriving businesses, ready to employ others, rather than waiting to be employed,” she said.
Jeff Rani, the Sector Head for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development under PRIME also attended the programme.
