MPCC Secretary and Mawhati MLA, Charles Marngar has assured help to reach out to the State government on behalf of the cook cum helper under PM Poshan in the State.
These workers have been left unpaid coupled with delays in payment of wages.
The union of cooks and helpers in Ri Bhoi had raised the issue before the MLA.
Marngar during the first anniversary celebration of the workers in Ri Bhoi district today said, “I will try my level best to urge the state government to address to their grievances and provide with good facilities as they have been working so hard for the wellbeing of students.”
Earlier, this week Union of Cook cum Helpers, PM POSHAN Meghalaya said dues for the month of July-September were left unpaid and demanded the state government to release the pending dues before October 20.
The other demand of the union is to provide LPG cylinders to every school under PM Poshan where the workers usually have to cook with firewood.
