Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sujoy Lal Thaosen began a two-day visit to Shillong today as part of an official tour.
He called upon Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and apprised the latter about the role of the CRPF in bringing peace to this region, a press release stated.
Thaosen also thanked the CM for providing land to the CRPF for establishing a battalion headquarters.
The DG also visited the CRPF North Eastern Sector office and 67th Battalion and interacted with personnel. He exhorted the troops to work hard to maintain the desired peace in the North East, maintain cordial relations with other organisations and the general public.
Thaosen visited the CRPF hospital and enquired about the health facilities there. A Sainik Sammelan was also conducted wherein the DG interacted personally with the troops to understand their problems and further directed to concerned officials to find solutions.
As part of the first day’s visit, the DG also met the Chief Secretary, Director General of Assam Rifles, Director General of Police and the Inspector General of the Border Security Force Meghalaya Frontier to discuss internal security issues with them.
