The National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled, Shillong will begin its free stipendiary training in computer application and electrical and home appliances repairing to persons with disabilities.
Candidates with orthopaedic, visual, hearing, mild intellectual, multiple disabilities and nile leprosy cured can apply.
The duration of the training programme is six months to maximum one year. A monthly stipend of Rs 2500 will be given to the beneficiary during the training programme, which will be credited to their account through DBT process.
Interested candidates are to submit their bio-data along with desired documents like educational qualification, disability certificate, Aadhar card, caste certificate, passport size photo and bank account details to the office situated at Keating Road on or before September 30, 2023.
National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (erstwhile VRC) is a subordinate office under Directorate General of Employment (DGE), Ministry of Labour & Employment and has been working for the welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) through counselling, evaluation, imparting non-formal vocational training, rehabilitation and other outreach activities in order to bring them into the mainstreams model of development since October 2022 in Meghalaya.
