The State government has prepared a report to be submitted to the Meghalaya High Court regarding the roadmap for augmenting electricity generation and supply in the State.
However, since the officer of the Power Department who is supposed to sign the report was unavailable, the report could not be submitted to the court.
This was informed by Additional Advocate General T Yangi B during hearing of a PIL filed by Flaming B. Marak in the division bench of the High Court today.
“Such report may be filed by September 19. An advance copy of the report should be handed over immediately to the advocate for the petitioner,” the High Court said.
Moreover, the State government also informed the High Court that load-shedding in the urban areas in the State has been reduced to about two hours per day and for the rural areas, it is about three hours per day.
The next hearing on the matter will be held on September 20.
