The State government has said that investigation is continuing on the case registered at Mawlai police station based on the FIR filed by Granary S. Thangkhiew regarding the encounter death of his brother Cheristerfield Thangkhiew.
This was informed by Advocate General Amit Kumar before the Meghalaya High Court’s bench of Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew during the hearing of the writ petition filed by Granary S. Thangkhiew.
Kumar stated that with regard to the status of Mawlai PS Case No. 44 dated 18.08.2021, the investigation is still on and the FSL reports have just been received.
He also requested the High Court that the entire matter be heard, taking all the issues raised by the petitioner for consideration.
Accordingly, the High Court has listed the matter for hearing on September 27.
