A public hearing for the proposed shale mine in Brichynot village have evoked positive response from locals who stood in support for the M/s Green Valliey Industries Limited (Max Cement).
Additional Deputy Commissioner G.Warjri conducted the public hearing in the presence of officials from the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board and the public.
Waheh Shnong of Brichyrnot Stanly Masar said that the villagers have given its hundred support to the company, including residents of nearby villages that included Khaddum, Pandare, Lumshnong and Tongseng.
Assistant Vice President of M/s Green Valley Industries Ltd Pawan Kumar Joshi said, “We are grateful to the village and the Elaka for supporting us and we promise to the village authorities that we will give them ample opportunity to progress in the coming days, especially in areas of employment, development of the society through road construction.”
The company had proposed shale mine over an area of 4.77 Ha at Brichyrnot under Narpuh Elaka.
