Twenty-seven farmers from 14 villages in West Khasi Hills district took part in a one day training programme on livestock input distribution programme organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra held at Nongshillong.
The programme was held on March 16 in collaboration with the ICAR National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad.
Two senior scientists from the institute and ICAR, NEH Umiam were the resource persons at the training programme.
Senior Scientist, Dr. G Kandeepan spoke about the research activities that are carried out at ICAR. He said farmers help science grow and advised them to take proper care of the poultry distributed at the programme.
Dr. Samir Das said week-old younger poultry chicks are being replaced by old poultry chicks to ensure low mortality rate.
At the programme, rainbow rooster chicks, drinker and feeder, multivitamins and poultry feed were distributed to selected beneficiaries.
