Meghalaya BJP president Ernest Mawrie yesterday presented his report to the party leadership in Delhi regarding the position of the BJP in the State and its strategies for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Mawrie was in New Delhi to attend the National Executive meeting of the BJP.

According to sources, besides Mawrie, the state BJP presidents from other election-bound states also presented their reports to the leadership.

They include Nalin Kumar Kateel (Karnataka), Rajib Bhattacharjee (Tripura) and Temjen Imna Along (Nagaland).

Sources also said that after the reports were presented, there was threadbare discussion on them. The party leadership will prepare a roadmap on these reports to win the elections.

BJP chiefs of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram presented their reports today, sources said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president J P Nadda, all party general secretaries, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, all state party presidents and other officials were present in the meeting.

The BJP is yet to announce its candidates for the upcoming polls in Meghalaya. On January 15, the State party leadership received the nominations from ticket aspirants.

The names will be screened and shortlisted by the State election committee and forwarded to the central leadership in Delhi for its final approval.
