Dalu and Jengjal became the latest areas to be made civil sub-divisions by the state government.
“For public convenience and better administration, the government of Meghalaya, in a notification issued, has ordered the upgradation of Dalu development block to civil sub-division to be known as Dalu civil sub-division in West Garo Hills district, with headquarters at Dalu, and consequent upon its creation, the civil sub-division shall function from its headquarters at Dalu with effect from December 1, 2022. This was informed by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya,” a release stated today.
A similar order was passed for Jengjal, which is also in West Garo Hills.
Meanwhile, in another notification, the government ordered the creation of Lumshnong community and rural development block in East Jaiñtia Hills with immediate effect.
