A poster banner showing the Chief Minister of the MDA led-government boasting of having undertaken construction of rural roads at 2.2 kilometers everyday may sound like a gigantic exercise.
But a careful study and inspection will show the reality when even the crucial Pynursla to Dawki highway that falls within the State PWD’s jurisdiction hasn’t improved and neither has there been any effort from the road contractors and officers in taking up measures.
So what are the Chief Minister and his Deputy Chief Minister doing all these past months except to bluff people with hollow promises limited to foundation stone laying programmes.
While rural roads are being constructed as what the banner says, such advertisements and implementations should be subjected to public scrutiny rather than blowing one’s own trumpet.
