The Khasi Students’ Union today met Ambrose Ch Marak, Secretary of the Education Department, relating to a fake message that is misleading students regarding the pending government scholarships.
The KSU apprised the secretary that students have been left confused after some opportunist posted on social media directing students who have not received their scholarship funds to approach the Director of Higher and Technical Education with various required documents.
The KSU demanded the Secretary issue a notification so that the students are not perplexed and misled by the fake information.
Meanwhile, with regards to the fake certificate issue that arose at the William Carey University, Shillong, the KSU has demanded an inquiry and to punish the culprit as per the law.
The secretary assured that the Meghalaya Private Universities Regulatory Board has taken care of the issue and the needful will be done.
