The Meghalaya BJP has expressed its thanks to the central government for air connectivity between Shillong and other parts of the country.
“For long, the airport at Shillong had been lying un-used in a poor state. Today it caters to tens of thousands of passengers every month,” BJP State President, Ernest Mawrie said.
He said change has been brought by the pro pro-Northeast policies of the Prime Minister. He also thanked Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia for flagging of the operations of Alliance Air that will connect Shillong with Lilabari in Assam.
Mawrie added that immediately after forming the next government, the BJP will ensure that Shillong is connected with other major cities of the country by air.
