Members of Sanatan Dharmasabha (Harisabha) Puja Committee, Laban, today inaugurated the 125th anniversary celebrations of Durga Puja at Harishava.
The programme started with a welcome song followed by lighting of lamp, speeches from all guests and a cultural programme.
Cabinet minister and local MLA Sanbor Shullai was the chief guest, founder Vice-Chancellor of Assam University Prof JB Bhattacharjee was guest of honour and Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee was a special guest.
Also present were Central Puja Committee general secretary Jayanta Lal Das, members of different Durga Puja and Kali Puja committees, senior citizens and residents of Laban, among others.
