An unidentified man, aged around 50, was found dead next to a transformer on the campus of the Public Health Engineering Department in Tura yesterday morning.
It is suspected that the man was electrocuted at the site. His body was discovered by employees of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd (MeECL). His body was taken to Tura Civil Hospital for an autopsy.
Police have requested family members of the man to come forward and claim the body. He is described as around 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with black hair and a white beard and moustache. He was dressed in black trousers and olive green t-shirt.
