The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) today urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) to set up an examination centre for CSIR-NET 2022 in Meghalaya.
In a letter to NTA Senior Director (Exams) Dr. Sadhana Parashar, the education cell of KSU said that students of Meghalaya were being given examination centres for the CSIR-NET 2022 in Tripura and other states.
Stating that the students are facing great inconvenience as the allocated centres are far from their native places, the KSU said.
“Thus the difficulty to bear the cost of travel expenses arise leaving the students with no option but to opt out of the exams. Over the years the examination centres for the above-mentioned examination for students from our State have always been Shillong or Guwahati,” the KSU added.
It also requested Dr. Sadhana to intervene in the matter and consider shifting and reallocating the examination centre for CSIR-NET 2022 for students of Meghalaya to Shillong or anywhere in Meghalaya.
CSIR-NET 2022 examinations are scheduled to be held from September 16 to 18.
CSIR-NET is a national-level exam conducted by the NTA to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) or Assistant Professor in the universities and colleges of India.
