The Centre for Development of the North Eastern Region (CeDNER), IIM Shillong, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, is offering a 40-hour weekend online certificate course for aspiring women entrepreneurs of the Northeast.
The course commenced today till September 16 and will be held every Saturday and Sunday. It is aimed at motivating women of north east to take up entrepreneurship and to train business models, tools and strategies.
The course will cover Organisation Behaviour, Marketing strategies, Innovation, Startups, raising finance, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Business models, Experiential learning, Case studies etc. The course will be taught by experienced faculty of IIM Shillong and successful women entrepreneurs of the Northeast.
The certification orogram for women will offer personal and professional development opportunities with a focus on management practises, growth opportunities, the development of effective leadership skills, and support through formal mentoring on the business idea and peer networking.
CEDNER convener, Dr. Sanjeev Ningombam highlighted the initiatives taken under the centre on the areas of promoting livelihood, entrepreneurship, community development etc. He outlined the design and structure of the course.
NCW Deputy Secretary, Pradeep Kumar during his inaugural address mentioned various initiatives taken by the commission for development of women of India.
Legal Advisor of the commission, Kanchan Khattar encouraged participants to make the best benefit from this course that is offered from the best B-School of the region.
IIM Director, Dr. DP Goyal, said the course is designed to assist aspiring female entrepreneurs in launching their own businesses while learning from the eminent faculty at IIM Shillong. “While being mentored, participants will work on developing a business plan and will present their entrepreneurship dynamics to the mentors,” he added.
