Two people were arrested and Rs 75 lakh worth of heroin was seized in a counter narcotics operation by Ri-Bhoi police last night.
Police informed today that a motorbike (ML 05 R 4704) was stopped at a police checkpoint in Byrnihat yesterday. It was being ridden by two individuals, Shanborlang Khongwir and Bandapkular Mawlong.
Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad said that 10 soap cases full of heroin weighing around 120g were recovered from the duo.
A case has been registered against the two and the bike, drugs and three mobile phones were seized.
