Work to expand the Shillong-Dawki road to four lanes has been delayed due to opposition of landowners, Public Works Department (Roads) Minister Prestone Tynsong said today.
Even if one or two landowners in 10 do not want to part with their land, the project will have to stop until the opposition is overcome, he said.
“The District Collector has to sit down with the land owners and again start the process of another fresh meeting and fresh assessment,” Tynsong informed.
