Opposition leader Mukul Sangma today said that the MDA government is depriving the youth of Meghalaya.
“Why have they (MDA government) deprived our youth who have been waiting for the jobs they deserve? One must think about all categories of stakeholders as far as jobs are concerned,” Sangma questioned during the general party meeting at Asanang held today.
Stating that everyone has aspirations, which has to be ensured in a democratic set up, he asked, “What is their intention? What is their priority?”
He also questioned the progress of the road from Dainadubi, Damra Mendipathar, Resubelpara and further asked, “What has stopped the government from completing the World Bank funded project that was approved in 2017?”
“Similar is the condition of Rongram-Phulbari where Rs. 132 crore is the tender value and the contractor is the one who constructed the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. The quantum of the funds released to the contractor does not commensurate with the progress on ground. Of the total tender value, Rs. 77 Crore is already paid yet the progress on-ground is hardly 30 per cent,” he added.
