There is nothing much to be read into the reallocation of portfolios between MDCs Paul Lyngdoh and Jambor War, the Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) said today.
Titosstarwell Chyne said that the reallocation was nothing more than an arrangement made by the Executive Members concerned, both of whom are from the United Democratic Party (UDP), which is also Chyne’s party.
“This was done by mutual understanding of all the EMs of the UDP in the KHADC that the Elaka Department of East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi will be handled by Jambor War while Southwest, West and Eastern West will be handled by Paul Lyngdoh,” he told a few reporters.
Chyne also informed that, since War’s portfolio has been bifurcated, he will now receive charge of the Taxation Department as well. The CEM denied that the move was meant to strengthen his own position as chief.
