The press fraternity of Meghalaya and the Highland Post family in particular were left devastated by the death of D Henpilen, who passed away at a city hospital following a period of illness.
Born on February 1, 1980, Henpi, as he was fondly known, was a regular cartoonist for Highland Post. One of the few practitioners of this particular craft in the state, Henpi delighted readers with his witty and insightful cartoons that reflected contemporary themes, concerns and subjects.
He was also the former bureau head of ANI and a contributor to Media Plus. He is survived by his wife, Peacefully Kharkongor, and their son, D Lenzionkordor Kharkongor.
The last rites will be performed in Bethel, Manipur, on Tuesday.
