To add a bit of green to National Highway 6, the proprietors of Woodland Dhaba and Jiva Veg restaurants in Nongpoh took the initiative to plant over 1,200 tree saplings along the stretch from Mawdiangum to\ Umlyngkdait villages.
The initiative also received support from the National Highways Authority of India, the Dorbar Shnongs of Mawdiangum and Umlyngkdait, which also actively participated in the planting of the saplings.
The plantation drive was led by Jo Nongrum and Jiwat Vaswani, the proprietors of Woodland Dhaba and Jiva Veg respectively, officials of NHAI, the Rangbah Shnong of Mawdiangum Rexson Warjri and Rangbah Shnong of Umlyngkdait N Makdoh.
