The Directorate of Indian Army Veterans today provided a custom-made retro-fitted scooter to a physically disabled solider in Shillong.
This is to salute the exemplary grit and fortitude of the soldiers of the army, a statement here said.
The scooty was presented to Havildar Harka Bahadur Gurung of the 58 Gorkha Training Centre to facilitate his daily commute and provide comfortable conveyance to the disabled brave soldier.
“The Indian Army is indebted and salutes the beneficiary for his indomitable spirit and determination exhibited by him in spite of the disability and further assured assistance and support in the future too,” the army said.
The scooty procured in partnership with the Hero Motocorp is part of the army’s outreach to the soldiers. It was handed over to the soldier by 101 Area GOC Lt Gen KC Panchanathan.
