Balachanda MDC, Agassi Marak today visited the flood-affected Songkapara village in West Garo Hills district to extend support to the villages there.
Marak used boats to reach the inaccessible villages that are cut off from the mainland to also assess the damage brought in by incessant rains in various areas of the village.
This was part of the TMC’s ongoing relief efforts after flash floods impacted over 5 lakh lives across the State. He was accompanied by two local TMC leaders Winson Koch and Sushil Koch.
During his visit, Marak spoke to flood-affected families and provided necessary assistance. Floods have not only hampered the village’s connectivity but also damaged crops.
“We are together in what has befallen us, and we shall make it through,” Marak aid. He also provided a boat to the community and assured to provide moral and material support in times of need.
