As part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration, Meghalaya today joined the nation-wide programme on the interaction of the Prime Minister with beneficiaries of Central Schemes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually interacted with beneficiaries from across the country from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
The objectives of the programme is to discuss how the left outs can be saturated, to understand the ease of living brought by various schemes, to seek ideas for improvement of these schemes, to explore the possibilities for convergence and to discuss citizen’s aspiration at 2047 ( 100 years of India’s independence).
The programme in Meghalaya was held at the State Convention Centre Auditorium which was attended by Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, cabinet minister Hamletson Dohling and DONER Union MoS, B L Verma.
Addressing the gathering, Tynsong highlighted the various initiatives of the central government which benefitted the masses mostly the poor and marginalized society.
“With the untiring support from the central government, we have seen a lot of developmental activities and transformations in the state in these past few years. I express my sincere gratitude on behalf of the state of Meghalaya and look forward for various other schemes in the coming years,” he stated.
During the programme, Verma interacted with the state beneficiaries who availed the various central government schemes.
