Altogether 126 candidates appeared for an entrance test to avail the scholarship announced by the Khasi Students Union (KSU).
The KSU had announced to sponsor budding UPSC civil service aspirants to go for coaching classes in Delhi.
The UPSC-CSE scholarship examination was conducted by the education cell of the KSU at the cluster classroom of the North Eastern Hill University.
KSU president Lambokstar Marngar was present at the beginning of the examination to inspire candidates. He said the entrance examination is not a victory but a beginning and aspirants should work hard to achieve their goal.
He said there is a dearth of civil servants who hail from the State and it is for this reason that the union took the initiative to support local youth who have the ability to compete.
Education secretary, R Kharjana informed that the union had received 160 registrations. He said the results will be announced through the union’s website.
