The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) has sought assurances that the state’s reservation policy is being implemented at the College of Teacher Education in Rongkhon, Tura.
The pressure group met with Director of Education and Literacy, Ambrose Marak, to seek clarification on the admission process to the BEd degree programme.
Speaking to the media, HITO president Donbok Dkhar said that, regarding the admission criteria, details were not clearly mentioned except for percentage of marks and entrance test.
However, HITO wanted clarification on whether the reservation policy is being followed for admission; out of 50 students, only seven are from Khasi-Jaiñtia community, Dkhar added.
