Six absconding Nigerian nationals involved in a murder case in Mumbai were arrested by Meghalaya police while entering the state with an intention to flee to Bangladesh.
Following a request from the Mumbai police, an operation was launched by Meghalaya police who were able to trace the six persons at Lad Umsaw in Ri Bhoi while they were travelling in a tourist sumo bearing registration number ML 10 B 9779.
“It is learnt that the Nigerian nationals after committing the offence at Mumbai were intending to flee India to Bangladesh through Dawki,” police said.
The arrested persons are Eze Christopher Obasi (43), Ahukanna Chinonso (46), Obi Francis Osita (36), Okoro Kelvin Chidozie (29), Emmanuel Agbeyi (37) and Osagiede Godstime (38).
