The 35th convocation of Indira Gandhi National University (IGNOU) was held today at NEHU Convention Hall.
Prof Prabha Sankar Shukla, Vice-Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) was the guest of honour. There were 1,092 students eligible for degrees, among them 566 are in master’s programmes, 450 in bachelor’s programmes, 68 are in postgraduate diploma programmes and six in diploma programmes.
In his speech, Shukla pointed out that 2.91 lakh students received their degrees, diplomas and certificates from IGNOU today. He highlighted how the National Education Policy 2020 will give a new dimension to higher education.
