NEIGRIHMS has once again achieved glory for the efforts put in by its faculty as it bagged three awards this month in Ophthalmology, Dentistry and as the best performing hospital.
The hospital received the ‘Ayushman Utkristata Puraskar 2021’ for best performing Hospital in small State category. The award was given for its contribution as a highest number of insurance claims it raised.
NEIGRIHMS successfully implemented the Ayushman Bharat–PMJAY in convergence with MHIS (Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme) for the benefit of poor patients. In addition to these schemes, the hospital is also implementing CMAAY (Chief Minister Arunachal Aarogya Yojna) and RAN (Rastriya Aarogya Nidhi) schemes for cashless treatment to needy patients.
This award was bestowed to the hospital on April 8.
On the same day, NEIGRIHMS bagged the first position in the country for their outstanding performance in observance of World Oral Health Day celebrated on March 20, 2022 where more than 150 Dental colleges and institutes from all over India participated.
The World Oral Health Day was celebrated by the department by conducting radio talk show, awareness run campaign, poster competition and various community-based programs including oral screening in Schools, orphanage and old age home along with distribution of toothbrush and toothpaste, pamphlets on importance of oral and dental health.
NEIGRIHMS Professor & Head, Department of Ophthalmology Dr. Tanie Natung also won accolades for the hospital when he was honoured with the prestigious “Sushruta Samman” award.
The award was presented to him during the 5th National Assembly of Forum of Ophthalmology Professors of India (FOPI) & Pan India HOD Ophthalmology Group meeting held at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh from April 2-3.
Dr Natung was honoured for his outstanding role as a professor and HOD, Ophthalmology in teaching and training the undergraduate (MBBS) and post guraduate (MD/MS) students and excellence in eye surgeries.
Sushruta Samman is the highest national award accorded by FOPI in Ophthalmology for Professors with outstanding contributions to teaching and training and excellence in eye surgeries.
Dr Natung is also the recipient of the prestigious ‘International Council of Ophthalmology’ fellowship award and ‘Delhi Ophthalmological Society’ travel grant award previously. He is an expert in Phaco-refractive surgeries and Strabismus & Pediatric Ophthalmology.
